a nice video of Drew Mikuska's senior recital, where you can see me playing piano and celesta in live-to-picture film cue
a percussion-piano duet with Wells Leng by Hanna Kulenty called Kisses & Crosses
1. from the 5th floor of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, where I was invited to give a presentation and performance of my music, followed by a Q&A and lunch.
2. from the choir with the USC Chamber Singers, rehearsing with LACO at the Ambassador Auditorium, for the "Sleepers Awake" Bach Cantatas Discover series concert on 1/23/16.
I've been performing with the USC Chamber Singers, USC Concert Orchestra, and USC Concerto Chamber Orchestra this semester, which leaves me little time for anything else but I've still managed to squeeze a few premieres in:
Novemeber 8, 2015 - USC Composers Showcase, I will premiere my "piece for piano, four hands" and a handful of other composers' pieces.
November 15, 2015 - USC Electro-Acoustic Showcase, I will premiere "CMYK", which will also be my electronic music premiere.
The premieres of "green cleaver" and "garden snake" at the Charlotte New Music festival went well, as did the premiere of "quartet for four bassoons" at USC for Andrew Norman's Sophomore Composition Class final.
I've been awarded the position of Orchestra Manager for USC Concerto Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble which I also compose for and perform in.
The premiere of selections from my "Five Etudes for Piano" on March 8th went well, as did my premiere of selections from Wells Leng's "12 Pieces for Children."
I've been accepted to the Charlotte New Music Festival, where the Great Noise Ensemble will premiere a piece of mine in June 2015.
More good news for 2015! My recently finished piece "Five Etudes for Piano" will be premiered (selections) by my friend and colleague Wells Leng on the USC Composer's Showcase on March 8th, 2015, 7pm at USC.
On that same program, I will be premiering selections from Wells Leng's recent "12 Children's Pieces."
"sink full of water" will receive its second performance on Mar. 20 in Frick, Aargau, Switzerland. More performances to come.
Furthermore, my yet untitled omnibus piece for tenor and orchestra is on track for premiere later this year. My current project is a longer piece for four bassoons, to be premiered at the end of this semester. I also have a few other pieces for competitions in the works, and I'll update here on the status of those (I should be hearing back from a few in the next coming weeks!)
